Seligman Orthodontics

Your First Orthodontics Visit

Your first appointment is a very dynamic session. We will begin by introducing you to all of our staff including the doctor, we will show you around the office, and make sure you feel at home. We will then gather your personal information and clinical history. You can make streamline the information gathering process by downloading the patient information and health history forms directly from our website, you can then submit them online or bring them filled out to your appointment.

The next step is for one of our team members to go over the orthodontic process with you and present you with a video that covers the multiple steps of evaluation and record taking. Diagnostic records including digital scans, impressions, photographs, and/or x-rays necessary to diagnose and establish an effective comprehensive treatment plan. For most patients, we can diagnose using a digital 3D scan of their mouths and teeth and avoid messy impressions.

Once we have finished gathering records and determining the diagnosis, will present you with a computer simulation of the treatment options we recommend for your case. At this time, we will require your input to determine your aesthetic goals which will be taken into consideration to determine the best treatment plan for you. For our younger patients, we strongly recommend that the child and either all parents or all legal guardians are present for this session since it involves making important decisions.
